Maya S. Patel is a filmmaker based in Mumbai, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles. She is a founding partner at Min(d) Studio.
 

Her films have been showcased at renowned venues, including The Metropolitan Museum, the Sundance Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, MAMI and Film Columbia, NY. She is best known for "The Price of Free," a Concordia Studio & Participant Media production that was nominated for an Emmy and tells the story of Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi and his fight against child slavery. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018. Maya has also contributed to the development and production of award-winning films and campaigns, including Netflix’s "Bikram," Showtime’s "The Kingmaker," and Nike’s "Da Da Ding" music video.
 

Maya was selected as a fellow for the Producer's Guild of America PGA Create 2022 program. Her project "A Love Supreme" was one of ten feature projects chosen for the Film Bazaar 2023 Co-Production Market. She is currently producing Min(d) Studio's first narrative feature, "Further to Fly," with executive producers Freida Pinto and Emily Verellen Strom. Additionally, she is developing a dramatic limited series titled "Risk," about the remarkable war photographers Gerda Taro and Robert Capa, in collaboration with Magnum Photos and the International Center for Photography.
 

Maya’s short film "An Arrested Moment," which explores the relationship between the legendary director James Ivory and art, is currently on exhibit at The Met until May 2025.
